Men are Just as Capable as Women !

"Lost in the Kitchen," by Barry is a essay in which Barry discusses how men have no place in the kitchen. Men are useless and don't know what to do in the kitchen area.

How can this be true we are all human and if women knows how to do something, what keeps a man from knowing how to do the same thing.

It's a matter of opinion, men, if they really want to can cook and clean just as well as a women. Women and men are equal.

If a women can cook and take care of the househould, what excuses a man from knowing how to do the same are not capable of learning how to ?

I most definitely agree with Aunnika H. I think that if men wanted to they can become great cooks just as well as any woman could. My father is a great cook but even though he does not cook often, when he does he can make some really good food.

I agree with Aunnika because i was taught that it's very important that a man knows how to cook as well as clean. Because even when a person gets married its not written in stone that the woman will know how to cook!

It's true that men are just as capable at learning to cook as women. And there are no good excuses as to why some don't. It's just a some-what accepted tradition for many areas. The man brings home the bacon and the woman fries it.

...I don't mean to say that this is correct or right by any means, however. I think Barry was just playing with this stereotype to make his readers think more about the subject at hand.

Why can't a man cook? I totally agree with with Aunnika H. because a man is capable of doing anything he puts his mind to. Women aren't the only cooks in the world. We cook too, and that stereotype is so out dated.

Men and woman are equal whether they are in the kitchen or not. Barry seems to miss this concept altogether. I agree with you Aunnika in your argument. If men really want to do something, they can, there’s nothing stopping them, except maybe themselves. Barry is just being sexist.

I agree if a man prepares his self to learn how to cook then he'll be even better than the women. He'll I know a man that can cook real good and he does it best when he's drunk. WOW!!!!!

I agree with the idea that men have the capability to be just as useful in the kitchen as women. However, I am not entirely sure that is what Barry really thinks. He is a humorous writer and he was drawing everything from a stereotypical view point of men concerning a traditionally woman field.

I disagree with Aunnika because Barry is not saying women are not capable, but some men follow the stereiotype.

I don't think that some people understood the point of this story. I thought the story was funny. Barry isn't trying to say that men aren't capable of cooking, but the stereotype is that men don't cook and it is left up to the woman.

There is no reason for people to be stereotypical. Everyone is capable of accomplishing goals when they set their minds to it. In relationships, couples learn where they stand, they quickly find out what their responsibilities are within that relationship. However, cooking is one topic that varies in all relationships. In some, females do the cooking and in others, males do the cooking. I guess my point being that people need to compromise and get rid of a stereotypical attitude.
