Men Are Not Scum!!!

According to Dave Barry, men do not help out when it comes to doing anything in the kitchen. Not so fast my friend. The way I’ve been raised is completely different. In my household and my relatives’ household, the men do pretty much all of the cooking and the women help out a little bit when it comes to cleaning up, and the men still help out with that.

I know that all families are different, but Barry should not stereotype all men in families like the way he did. I’m sure that there are many families where the men go to work and come home and expect a well cooked meal by their wife, and then expect their wife to do the cleaning as well.

Barry’s main example is about Thanksgiving. I believe that Thanksgiving should be about everyone helping out with something. Again in my family, I, my dad, my mom, and my brothers all take part in cooking the dinner.

“Men are still basically scum when it comes to helping out in the kitchen.” This one quote pissed me off. I believe that men and women do at least an equal share in the kitchen.
