Homework Assignment for Friday, 3/30

I'm posting this here for the benefit of those who weren't in class on Wednesday. This is also posted on WebCT.

Use the Academic Search Premier database to locate the article “Time for Reading” by Lindsay Waters. Print out this article, read it, and bring it to class with you on Friday. If you do not have a printed copy of the article on Friday, you will not be able to complete the in-class essay.

Please also bring to class on Friday your Handbook, as well as any other materials (such as a dictionary) you will need to write the in-class essay.

I strongly encourage you to read Waters’s essay at least twice. Be sure you note the structure and organization of the essay: What is the thesis? What main points support the thesis? What examples or evidence does Waters use to support those points?

Also, be sure to read Waters’s biography at the end of the article.
